praying.

8 Jan

after the year we’ve had, i am learning how important prayer truly is.  i firmly believe that the Lord wants us to pray not for His sake, but for our own.  it’s about my heart, not His.  He has numbered our days long before we were ever born, and His plan for us WILL be fulfilled.  but i also believe that prayer can and does change things.  don’t ask me to explain it.  i am far from a Christian theologian.

i thought i would write out some of the things i have been praying for and ask if you would join me.  the list is by no means complete.  it’s just what’s been circulating around in my brain and my prayers this week.

that our house would sell quickly and for a fair price

that the Lord would provide us a place to live to meet our needs

that we would have neighbors as awesome as this chicky who prayed for them before they even arrived

that the kids would be welcomed warmly into their new classroom

that we would find and make sweet friends quickly

that I would learn to drive in ice and snow without learning the hard way

that we would receive confirmation of some sort that we are choosing the right school for our kids

that our house would sell quickly and for a fair price

that we would find a church that has a hole only the Owens family could fill

that we would rely on the Lord, trusting Him, His faithfulness and His goodness
